Thoughts of the Wayfarers

To my beloved ones… I write “Thoughts of the Wayfarers.”
I named it so because the path to God is intensely beautiful and full of hardships. In my reflections, I gathered moments from my pains while walking this path. I was steady in my steps until I learned where I came from and where I am going. Then my pains increased and my responsibilities grew heavier, so I began to watch the creeping of my feet before moving a single toe from one place to another. I laughed a lot and mocked myself often, until touches of wisdom reached me, hurting me, seizing my mind, and making me, whenever I turned away from the truth, return quickly to apologize and draw nearer.

What I learned most is that God—Exalted is He—is the return of everything; He is the secret of everything, and with Him are the secrets in constant prostration… The secret is from Him and to Him.

It is a severe journey in which my feet were torn, my ribs stumbled, and my pains multiplied. Yet my consolation is that when I depart from the earth, I will depart to the One for whom I devoted my life searching… and He will never abandon me.
